Shuja Rizvi – Founder
Mr. Shuja Rizvi is the man behind the progressive food brand – Tiffin that pledges to supply delicious and healthy home-cooked meals to multitudes of people across Karachi. It all began with a start-up idea amid Covid lockdown where Mr. Shuja found the opportunity to take a break from his regular travel and tour business. Subsequently he invested his time and energy in building a unique home-food brand, Tiffin, promising to provide food from Mom’s kitchen (Ammi ke kitchen se) to people away from home.
Mr Shuja Rizvi is an expert cook and an overwhelmingly passionate food-lover. He believes in cooking clean, hygienic, and healthy food just like it is prepared by our mothers with love and care. The ingredients are picked, sorted, cleaned and sifted, before being cooked in the purest high-quality oil that brings out the flavour and aroma of the food item to the fullest. Mr Shuja carefully picks and uses original spices sprinkled in the right proportion to blend into an exclusive dish created by the founder’s special recipe. Mr Shuja enjoys experimenting with food to design innovative dishes.
The Founder of Tiffin is not new to the food cooking business. As a prominent scholar and an acclaimed threnodist (Noha Khawan), Mr Shuja Rizvi is known by a huge audience and owns an ever-increasing fanbase. He has been taking Ziarat tours for Hajj, Umrah, and visits to the holy sites as the Head of Ziyarat Department for a renowned Travel Agency since 2013. Here was where the story began cooking.
As a tour leader, Mr Shuja Rizvi took the complete responsibility for the food and lodgings of the ‘zaireen’ (the pilgrims). He prepared the menu well in advance and was present on foot to cook and serve food to the ‘zaireen’ under his leadership. He did his task passionately, with a desire to serve the pilgrims to the holy site with utmost respect and care. From hot corn soups in winters to warm, wholesome meals after a long day of religious rituals, Mr Shuja always left people pleased with his service, food and management skills. There was a new dish on the menu each day. Once served, the menu item would not repeat throughout the rest of the tour. It was during these Ziyarat journeys that he realized that he could channelize his longstanding love for food to cooking, managing and serving clean, fresh, healthy, home-cooked tiffin meals to a growing working population that misses home food for themselves and their families.
